One of the major hot-button issues in the church today that rarely brings people together in unity, but more often drives people apart in disunity is the proper and biblical role of men and women in Christian marriage and ministry. It is an issue that has divided the church into warring factions over who is right and who is wrong — who is truly biblical in their understanding, and who is not. This is the exact opposite outcome from what Jesus pictures for his church in that great highly priestly prayer in John 17. And this disunity in the church must grieve his heart.

The purpose of this book is not to support, promote or oppose the theological approaches to the subject, but rather to invite you to join me on a journey to simply explore for ourselves what the Scriptures teach on the subject and see where they lead us.

This book is a book about the future–the future of our planet and the future of your life. It is based upon the writings of the ancient Hebrew prophets, and upon the teachings of Jesus and the apostles of the early church.

From the dawn of human history God has promised the coming of a Messiah who would rescue us and our world from the damaging and deadly consequences of our own rebellion against God as our Creator. That Messiah is Jesus of Nazareth.

He came once to bring forgiveness and the gift of eternal life for those who by faith will receive His grace. He’s coming again to pierce the spiritual darkness of this present world with the brilliance of His glory just as the brilliance of the sunrise pierces the dark clouds of night. And He will establish an everlasting kingdom of righteousness and peace on earth where those who receive His grace will live with Him forever.

No man knows the day or the hour of His coming, but Jesus Himself has given us clues to be looking for as an indication that His coming is near. The important thing is to be ready when He comes. This book will help equip you to do that.

For those who lived through the 70’s-80’s rapture hype, it is refreshing to consider exactly what Scripture says about the end times and the return of Christ. For those who missed those days, this might be very revelatory. Filled with hope and anticipation for His new Kingdom, Allan simply presents what is in the Bible, provides well documented and informative historical context, asks great questions, and actually leaves room for the reader to come to his/her own conclusions. Instead of heading to the mountain in a white robe with palm branches in hand, this has compelled me to be found faithful here on earth as I look forward to His coming.
